Clinical Improvisation: Improvising in a music therapy context is different from what you would expect in a free improvisation context or a drum circle. The focus is on the experience, or the “qualia”, of the improvisation. It can look and sound a lot of different ways depending on the therapist and the participant(s). In this video you can see how it looks in Deborah Seabrook’s practice. Click here for more information on the role of improvisation in music therapy.
